Blackwater's Award will be presented at the World Series
At every World Series, PoliceSoftball.com announces their year end awards. After soliciting our members for feedback, we review nominations and decide who is the most worthy of the awards. The first award we would like to announce is the Zada Enterprises East Coast Sponsor of the Year award. As all teams know, the generosity of sponsors allows them the ability to travel and support other tournaments throughout the year. This year's award goes to Blackwater Worldwide who is the sponsor of the Virginia Lawmen.
In the spring of 2008, Blackwater Worldwide signed on as the primary sponsor for the Virginia Lawmen Softball Team and this allowed them play some great ball over the year and helped them host one of the best softball tournaments of the year which coincided with Police Memorial week. The successful tournament reflected directly on the support of the 25 teams who competed at one of the premier softball complexes on the East Coast. Along with the outstanding softball played that weekend, the tournament also made its largest donation ever to the Police Memorial Fund.
With the continued support of Blackwater Worldwide, the Virginia Lawmen will look towards rebuilding a team that was once one of the powerhouses in Law Enforcement softball. They look forward to participating in different tournaments across the country, in hopes of returning the favor to those teams that have shown their support to their tournament.
The Virginia Lawmen would like to publicly recognize and thank Blackwater Worldwide for their support of not only of their team this year, but their respect and commitment they present to all Law Enforcement.
