Darin Pometta
Darin Pometta started his Police Softball career in 1993. He honed his arm with his experience as a pitcher for Cal State Fullerton. Darin helped the Razorbacks win five consecutive tournaments in one year in 1995 and was always mentioned in MVP circles. He was the epitome of a five tool player. Darin suffered a serious car accident while on duty and was nearly cut in half by a big rig. He suffered a severed hamstring and a ruined right knee. He was unable to walk for a period of nearly six months. However, the competitor in him showed up, and he rehabbed his way back onto the field. Although he no longer had the same kind of speed, he used his softball savvy to be a top level competitor once again. Darin helped his team by becoming a major recruiter, and a sage advisor while holding down first base and still hitting every ball he saw. While he no longer had elite speed, he used his skills to still hit doubles and triples by hustling on every play.
