Dick Osborn

Dick started playing police softball for the Dayton Police team in the 1960s and was a very good hitter throughout his career. Dick attended the first and second National Police Softball Tournament's in Cleveland, Ohio and when it fell by the wayside in 1973, he revived the tournament. Dick brought the tournament to Dayton in 1974 and ran it for next 10 years. In so doing- built the National Police Softball Tournament into the prestigious tournament it became. Dick handed the tourney off in 1985 after running it for 12 years. Dick is considered by many to be the the Father of Modern Police Softball.
