Mid-Atlantic Kicks of Season with an Orlando Championship

Once again we kicked off 2017 on the East Coast with the Brian Aselton Memorial Tournament in Kissimmee Florida. I have to start by saying, many teams came up to me over the weekend thanking me for having this tournament but in all reality , I cant express how fortunate I feel to be able to host this long running event. That cold wet Saturday evening shift back in 01/23/99 when Brian's life was so tragically taken from us 18 years ago, still seems like yesterday. So I am the one that needs to be thanking each and every one of you who participated, and in turn helps me to be able to keep Brian's name alive.

The weather was perfect, the balls were flying out and the punch was disappearing all weekend long. The Friday start with the Round Robin helped ease the burden of the times and seemed to be a hit for the most part. After battling through the round robin it left us 6 teams seeding in this order for the Silver Division.
Lake County
MO50
Stamford Ct.
Center Mass
Metro Dade Enforcers
Miami Gunners

After battling through the Double Elimination we were left with Stamford Ct, Third Place, Center Mass, Second Place and MO50 taking the Silver Division Championship with a come from behind win over Center Mass leaving them on the field for the Championship.

The Gold Division left us with this seeding going into the Double Elimination.
Mid Atlantic
3n2
North Florida
NY Hounds
South Florida
Thin Blue Line
Charlotte County
Metro Dawgs
Florida Guardians

The Gold Division left us with some great battles all day and some epic games which could have very easily have gone either way. Leaving us with a powerful North Florida team coming in Third Place. Which left us with a battling 3N2 team against a powerful Mid Atlantic team who looked like they couldn't be stopped all tournament. Going into the final they were just too powerful taking 3N2 in one game giving them the Gold Division Championship.

Special shout out to Terry Duggan of Mid Atlantic for donating two bats to the Tournament and good friend Jimmy Wolters of the NY Hounds who quite frankly , I probably couldn't run this event without his help with the brackets and seeding.

Its always great to see all the good friends and teams who participate every year and along the circuit. I cant thank you enough for attending. It leaves me with a great feeling in my heart and memories that will last a lifetime.
